Since 1915, Bosma Enterprises has been navigating blindness by providing job training, employment services, rehabilitation and outreach programs for people, from adolescents to seniors. Bosma is the only Indianapolis-area nonprofit provider of programs and services solely focused on people who are blind or visually impaired.
“We envision a future in which people who are blind or visually impaired have equal opportunities.”
In addition to their rehabilitation programs, Bosma is Indiana’s largest employer of people with vision loss. They offer several products through diverse lines of business. They include health and safety items, printing, contact center, warehousing and contract packaging, hearing aids, Independent Living Store, dry food packaging and Ice Melt.
Bosma Enterprises needed a new ERP to support their growing business. When they decided to search for a new solution, Bosma had 30 different on premise application running their business. After the selection process was over, there were 7, only 7 new suppliers supporting all of Bosma’s IT needs. Those 7 suppliers are:
- Financial Force.com
- Vana Workforce
With the help of NexGen Consulting Group, Bosma has reshaped their business in the cloud. They are leaner, more flexible and are poised for growth. By reducing their IT spend and improving their scalability, Bosma has created more opportunities to hire more visually impaired people.
AscentERP’s contribution, along with the help of the Bosma and NexGen teams, has created the ability to operate in the warehouse using voice technology on any iOS device. Picking instructions are driven by voice commands while at the same time items are barcode scanned and new pallet license plates are printed.
The Bosma warehousing team can fulfill orders, manage inventory, and ship to anywhere in the world. Bosma continues to provide meaningful employment to those that are blind or visually impaired and we are proud to be an enabler in that process.
